Food was excellent. Service to get food was a little slow but worth it. El Salvadorian food at its best!

Ordered for delivered today. 6 Pupusa de Chicharon y queso (Pork & Cheese) They're huge and hot! Bigger than my hand. Smells amazing and taste even better. Bread was tender, one was a bit more burnt but I love it!! I love the pull on the cheese when ripping it apart. It came with 2 kinds of curtido, regular pickled while cabbage & red spicy pickled cabbage. While the white cabbage was fine, the red cabbage had a mold taste. Had to throw it away. That's the minus one star.

Best pupusas in the mission, if not the city. It's all I ever get here, probably twice a week but at least once. Bean and cheese, light cheese, crispy so sooo good. 10/10, under 15 meal

I've only had delivery but I give it a thumbs up. The platanos & frijoles and pupusas de queso & chicharrón were delicious. The curtido is spot on too. I liked the chicken tamal but not quite as good as my grandmas. I now need to visit the establishment.

Recently moved in the neighborhood and wanted to check out the local digs. Along Mission there are 3 or 4 Salvadorean restaurants within a 3 blocks of each other. I grew up in Los Angeles surrounded by Salvadorean restaurants so this brought a sense of familiarity. That said, I'd been to Balompie (down the street) in the past and it was just okay. Montecristo seemed to get a lot of love on Yelp so I figured why not. The place was pretty chill, a few families and a couple people who'd maybe just gotten off of work. Clearly this was a place they frequented and loved. Ordered a couple different pupusas (one chicken and one pork) as well as a plate of platano frito with crema and black beans. And what can I say except, this might be my favorite Salvadorean spot! The platano frito was especially memorable, it had a nice crisp to it and it paired perfect with the crema and frijoles. The pupusas were great as well, and the curtido was abundant. Can't wait to come back and try their other plates!

Even better than Balompe! Casual ambiance, sometimes a bit Smokey. We order pupusas to go for an affordable yummy take-home meal. The Loroco , reveulta and Zucchini pupusas are our favorite and make for good vegetarian options.

This is my comfort food place. The girls are super nice and my food is always delicious. I've always order Montecristo Special or NY Steak, fries, onion and sunny side eggs.. (is not in the menu but you can always ask for something and they will make it for you!). Not always busy, clean and friendly staff.

Nice little El Salvadoran spot. Always has people inside, but never too busy. We had two pupusas, pollo and chicharon, and the sopa de marisco. The latter came with two thick soft corn tortillas (maybe that's El Salvador style?). Both had really good portions for the price. Good for when you want to switch it up from balompi down the block. We'll likely go back and try more stuff on the menu.
